There was great applause when the Good Spirit-prize was distributed in 2017
This meant that a “birthday arrangement”, where the gymnasium gathered almost all of the students in the assembly hall, was planned. Christian The Fourth´s Guild thus became part of this birthday arrangement and the representatives from the Guild marched into the assembly hall with music from our troubadour. Nobody could hear the music as it was drowned in applause from the gathered students. But this only enhanced the festive occasion.
After a presentation by headmaster Torben Poulsen, chief-bencher Niels Voss Hansen was handed the microphone in order to donate the Christian The Fourth´s Good Spirit-prize.
The gymnasium had beforehand been given the task to nominate the student who should receive the prize. The criteria for the donation are: “That the receiver should be a student or apprentice who by his or her good spirit and happy and positive mind has been instrumental in spreading good vibrations and good comradeship and thus create a good atmosphere and inspire teachers as well as fellow students to function in a positive and a little more joyous way”.
Among several candidates in the gymnasium the final choice was: Mads Aaby Gaunby.
During the presentation the chief-bencher emphasized that it was not necessary to be diligent and clever to receive the prize – but that it of course not would do any harm.
That Mads Aaby Gaunby was the right choice was made clear by the gigantic applause from his fellow students. Mads Aaby Gaunby received with great pleasure both the prize and the attached cash.
And that the Good Spirit-prize creates a good atmosphere experienced the representatives from Christian The Fourth´s Guild also when they left the assembly hall after the donation. There was a gigantic applause – so the good spirit and good humor was increased – and that is just the intention of the Good Spirit-prize!<<<
